Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Project Brief:

PHFI in collaboration with Government of Sikkim is implementing the project “Codevelop, Implement and Evaluate a sustainable model for cancer prevention in Sikkim”. The core objective of the project is to co-develop, implement, and evaluate a statewide, evidence-based cancer prevention and early detection program that integrates life skills-based school interventions, behavior change campaigns in colleges, and community outreach activities to effectively promote healthy behaviors, enhance cancer literacy, and reduce modifiable cancer risk factors among school going adolescents, college youth, and communities in Sikkim.

Job Summary:

Ensure the timely implementation of all study activities across all six districts of Sikkim and sites ensuring adherence to the proposed timelines and objectives of the project.

Deliverables:

The major duties and responsibilities will include:

• Facilitate effective liaison with study partners, health and education departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
• Handle Ethics Committee application submission, and all other Scientific and administrative compliances within the institute and at the funding agency.
• Contribute to the quantitative components of the study including study design, sampling strategy, protocol and tools development, and development of training manuals and resources.
• Develop and manage the project's database systems, ensuring robust data management practices.
• Contribute to the qualitative components of the study including the development of qualitative guides, protocols, training manuals and resources, data collection, data analysis and manuscript writing along with other team members.
• Contribute to intervention and campaigns development.
• Development of evaluation and monitoring frameworks, evaluation tools.
• Contribute for manuscript writing.
• Timely submission of Study Reports and other documentation to the funding agency and Annual and Progress reports to the Ethics Committee throughout the study duration.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor for the project/Division, as required.

Qualification:

Essential:
• First-class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with three years’ experience or PhD.
• Second-class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with PhD and three years’ experience.
• For Engineering/IT/CS-First Class Graduate degrees of Four Years with Five years’ experience.

Desirable:
• PhD in health or allied field.
• Handled a minimum of five projects relevant to the requirement as Principal Investigator or Co-PI.

Experience:

Essential:
• 3-5 years of experience in conducting Public Health Research or programme implementation.

Desirable:
• More than 5 years of experience in conducting Public Health Research.

Skills & Competencies:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in conducting trainings, meetings, and workshops.
