Role Overview
The Beautician Trainer delivers comprehensive, hands-on beauty and wellness training to women and girls at the Apni Kutir centre. The role goes beyond imparting technical skills — the Trainer helps learners develop a professional attitude, client-handling abilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset that will enable them to find employment in salons and parlours, set up their own home-based beauty services, or pursue self-employment. Training content is grounded in industry standards and adapted to local market demand.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, practical training sessions covering core beauty and wellness skills including: skincare and facials, threading, waxing, haircare (washing, cutting, styling, and treatments), manicure and pedicure, makeup (basic and bridal), and eyebrow and lash services.
Adapt training to reflect current local trends, festival demand (e.g., bridal season), and employer requirements of salons and beauty parlours in the area.
Ensure students develop the hygiene, safety, and client-management practices required for professional employment.
Maintain training materials, equipment, and product supplies in good order; report replenishment needs promptly.
Track individual student progress, maintain attendance records, and conduct practical assessments.
Coordinate with the Centre Coordinator and Placement Officer to facilitate beauty sector placements and self-employment linkages.
Participate in demonstrations, exhibitions, and local community events organized by the centre.
Mentor and encourage learners to see beauty services as a dignified and sustainable livelihood pathway.

Key Requirements
Demonstrated professional expertise in beauty therapy and salon services.
Fluency in Marathi is essential; working knowledge of Hindi is required.
Ability to teach practical skills in an encouraging, hands-on manner to learners with no prior background.
Knowledge of hygiene, safety, and professional standards in the beauty industry.
Basic record-keeping skills.

Qualifications
Minimum: Completion of a recognized beauty therapy or cosmetology course (NSDC, VLCC, Lakme Academy, or equivalent); a formal certificate is preferred.
2+ years of professional experience in a salon, parlour, or as a freelance beautician.
Prior teaching or training experience is preferred but not mandatory.
