Accountant (Female candidate Only)
Duty Station
Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh
Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing SEVA's financial systems, ensuring statutory and donor compliance, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting organizational financial management, audits, and reporting requirements.
Important Note
Only experienced candidates having prior work experience in NGOs, INGOs, charitable trusts, societies, donor-funded projects, and FCRA-compliant organizations should apply. Applications from candidates without NGO-sector accounting experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
•Maintain day-to-day accounts, including cash book, ledgers, vouchers, and bank reconciliations.
•Prepare budgets, financial statements, utilization certificates, and donor-wise financial reports.
•Ensure compliance with FCRA, Income Tax, TDS, GST, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other statutory requirements.
•Manage payroll processing, reimbursements, and staff advances.
•Coordinate and support internal, statutory, donor, and FCRA audits.
•Maintain proper financial documentation and digital filing systems.
•Liaise with banks, auditors, consultants, government departments, and funding agencies.
•Assist management in financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring of project expenditures.
•Ensure compliance with donor financial guidelines and NGO accounting standards.
Qualifications & Experience
•B.Com, M.Com, CA (Inter), MBA Finance, or equivalent qualification.
•Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in the NGO/Development Sector.
•Demonstrated experience in handling FCRA accounts, donor-funded projects, NGO statutory compliance, and audit processes.
•Proficiency in Tally ERP/Tally Prime, MS Excel, and accounting software.
•Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
•Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
Additional Preferred Skills
•Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Workspace, internet-based reporting systems, cloud storage, and digital documentation.
•Ability to prepare financial MIS reports, donor reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and maintain electronic records efficiently.
•Experience in using online banking platforms, government compliance portals (FCRA, Income Tax, GST, PF/ESI), and digital accounting systems will be an added advantage.
Compensation :
Annual remuneration of Rs 3.00–4.00 lakh per annum, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and organizational norms.
