Grameen Development Services (GDS), established in the year 1993 works towards socio-economic empowerment of poor and disadvantaged section of society particularly women living in the areas of structural poverty in India through promoting and strengthening the livelihoods.

Throughout its development trajectory, GDS has consistently responded to bring the social and development transformation for improving quality of life of people.

GDS has been implementing an agriculture development project with small and marginal farmers in Shravasti district, Uttar Pradesh” covering over 20000 farming households. Currently, GDS invites application for the position of ‘Subject Matter Specialist – Agri-Marketing’ from suitable candidates for the above project.

The Subject Matter Specialist – Agri-Marketing will lead the Marketing functions with the project team at the above location with Program Manager. S/He will establish the supply chain for collection of Agri-produce, provisioning of Agri-inputs and overall business strategy related to production, holding & warehousing and supply to the buyers. The relationship building with the market players and establishing supply chain will be the core responsibility.

Location: Shravasti district in Uttar Pradesh

Salary: Rs. 80,000/-per month (consolidated)

Qualification & Experiences
• Post graduate in Business Management, preferably Agri-Business Management from a reputed Institution.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in similar initiatives of grassroot level Agri-business promotion & marketing value chain of Agri-products through Farmer Producer organizations with proven track record. Minimum 3 years of management level experience would be desirable.
• Supply chain development for Agri-inputs and seed production, processing and marketing.
• Committed to work in remote rural location and should be good analytical and communication skills
• Proficient in computer operation preferably working in MS Office

Age Limit – Between the age group of 30-45 Years as on 1st June 2026

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Marketing functions with the project team with Farmer Producer Organization at the location.
2. Develop a team of Agriculture Entrepreneurs to supply Agri-inputs to farmers and for collectivization of produce from the farmers and build their capacities and linkages for better performances.
3. Establish the overall business strategy related to production, holding & warehousing and supply to the up market for better price realization.
4. The relationship building with the market players and establishing supply chain.
5. Business strategy formulation involving FPO leadership.
6. Establish seed production and supply value chain and manage the stakeholders involved.
