Purpose of Job
Android Mobile Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Android-based mobile applications that support organizational and project requirements. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly mobile solutions, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems and optimal application performance.

Essential Qualifications:
BE/BTech/MS in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Essential Experience
• 2-4 years of experience in mobile development both Android and iOS.
• Have at least 4 applications deployed on production and live in the Google Play Store.
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles, Material UI and interface guidelines.
• Prior experience developing highly customized and inventive user interfaces for iOS and Android.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Experience with third-party Android libraries and APIs.
• Experience working with local databases with an understanding of offline data storage.
• Strong knowledge of working with apps that require intense server communication with RESTful APIs, GraphQL etc.
• Experience in integration with external devices like Bluetooth and IoT devices is a plus but not mandatory.
Essential Skills
• Understanding of user needs and business requirements to develop mobile apps that meet customer expectations and add value to the end-user.
• Conducting code reviews of team members' commits and ability to maintain good quality code for long-term maintainability.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one programming language like Swift, Java or Koltin.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Ability to guide and manage junior developers.
• Have a strong desire to tackle difficult and innovative bespoke development projects while adhering to the best engineering standards.
Good to have
• Experience with Kotlin and Java for Android application development.
• Knowledge of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Android Jetpack components.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON parsing, and third-party SDK integrations.
• Familiarity with Firebase (Push Notifications, Analytics, Crashlytics).
• Knowledge of SQLite, Room Database, and offline data synchronization.
• Experience with Google Maps, GPS, and location-based services.
• Understanding of mobile application security and data protection best practices.
• Familiarity with Git, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Google Play Store.
• Exposure to AWS, cloud-based services, and backend integrations.
• Experience with QR code scanning, camera integration, and Bluetooth connectivity.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience working on healthcare, public health, or government-sector applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities

Key Roles/Responsibilities:
• Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
• Debug crash and bug reports with different stakeholders
• Ensure cross device capability
• Interacting with field teams and end users to understand the requirements
• Define technical design for mobile application eco system (enterprise integration working with REST services, Vendor Mobile APIS, Push notifications)
• Integrate available plugins to utilize native phone APIs to handle push notifications, geo-location etc.
• Potentially dig down into the native layer to develop custom plugins to achieve desired functionality if not supported by the chosen framework
• Design user interfaces with excellent user experience
• Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standards
• Research and suggest new mobile products, applications and protocols
• Stay up-to-date with new technology trends
• Designing and developing apps for the Android ecosystem
• Creating tests for code to ensure robustness and performance
• Fixing known bugs in existing Android applications and adding new features
• Working with other vendor software libraries and APIs
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and version control systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Bluetooth, QR code scanning, camera integration, and device peripherals.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
