Role Overview:
We are looking for experienced and passionate Road Safety Trainers to deliver engaging, experiential, and outcome-oriented training programs for heavy motor vehicle drivers.
The role involves facilitating classroom and activity-based learning sessions, promoting safe driving behaviour, improving awareness of road safety practices, and supporting behaviour change among commercial vehicle drivers. The trainer will also work closely with field teams to support mobilization, participation, and program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:
• Conduct theory-based, activity-based, and experiential learning sessions for heavy motor vehicle drivers.
• Deliver training modules on road safety, defensive driving, driver wellness, fatigue management, and responsible road behaviour.
• Facilitate interactive sessions using participatory learning methodologies and practical demonstrations.
• Ensure high-quality training delivery aligned with project objectives and training standards.
Learner Engagement:
• Build rapport and trust with drivers and participants from diverse backgrounds.
• Encourage active participation and practical application of concepts covered during training.
• Address participant queries and provide appropriate guidance on safe driving practices.
Monitoring & Documentation:
• Maintain attendance records and training documentation.
• Collect participant feedback and support training assessments.
• Record training outcomes and submit reports as per project requirements.
• Support documentation of success stories, testimonials, and field evidence.
Coordination & Mobilization Support:
• Coordinate with project teams, transport partners, fleet operators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth training delivery.
• Support mobilization activities whenever required to ensure achievement of participation targets.
• Assist field teams in planning and execution of training programs and awareness activities.
Quality & Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to approved training content and methodologies.
• Maintain professionalism and uphold organizational values during all interactions.
• Ensure compliance with project guidelines, safety protocols, and reporting requirements.
Candidate Profile:
• Graduate in any discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in training, facilitation, community engagement, or behavioural change programs.
• Prior experience in road safety training, driver training, transport sector programs, or skill development initiatives will be preferred.
• Experience in experiential learning, sports-for-development, participatory facilitation, or activity-based training methodologies is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage adult learners effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage field-based responsibilities.
Pre-Requisites:
• Candidate must be willing to support field mobilization activities whenever required.
• Must own a laptop, smartphone, and two-wheeler.
• Must possess a valid driving licence.
• Willingness to travel extensively within project locations.
• Ability to report to the assigned base location at short notice.
Compensation:
• Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
• Performance-linked incentives may be offered based on achievement of training targets and program outcomes.
