Contract Duration: 11 Months from 1st July 2026 (renewable based on performance and project continuation)
Supervises: Senior Program Officers, Program Officers, Field Staff, Volunteers, and Implementing Partners
Level of Contact with Children: Level 2 – Sporadic or occasional contact with children
Safeguarding Statement:

Travel Requirement
Frequent travel within assigned districts, blocks, schools, and communities for program implementation, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and supervision.

Position Summary
The Program Officer is responsible for the effective implementation of he Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) Program at the district level. The role involves coordinating with government stakeholders, schools, communities, and supervising volunteers to ensure successful delivery of project activities. The Program Officer will support teacher capacity building, facilitate hygiene education sessions, monitor program progress, manage reporting requirements, and strengthen community participation to achieve project objectives and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Planning & Implementation
• Plan and implement project activities in accordance with timelines, and deliverables.
• Ensure effective execution of school- and community-based interventions as per project guidelines.
• Organize and facilitate sessions and awareness activities in schools and communities.
• Plan and coordinate special day events, campaigns, and community outreach activities with active stakeholder participation.
• Facilitate visits by organizational leadership, donors, government officials, and external stakeholders to project sites and activities.
2. Government & Stakeholder Engagement
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with district- and block-level government departments and officials.
• Liaise with government stakeholders for project approvals, implementation support, recognition, and regular progress updates.
• Represent the organization in district- and block-level meetings, workshops, and review forums.
• Present project achievements, progress updates, and implementation status to government officials and stakeholders.
• Support collaboration with education departments, local institutions, and community organizations to strengthen program implementation.
3. Capacity Building & Volunteer Management
• Build the capacity of nodal teachers on the Curriculum and experiential learning approaches.
• Organize orientation, refresher trainings, and mentoring sessions for teachers and volunteers.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to volunteers conducting school-based sessions.
• Conduct regular monthly meetings with volunteers to review progress, address challenges, and strengthen their skills and knowledge.
• Promote volunteer engagement and accountability in achieving project objectives.
4. School & Community Engagement
• Attend meetings and engage with parents, teachers, and community members.
• Facilitate community awareness sessions and stakeholder engagement activities to reinforce project messages and behavior change outcomes.
• Foster ownership and participation among schools and communities to ensure sustainability of project interventions.
5. Resource & Material Management
• Coordinate the distribution and tracking of educational tools, and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to schools and project sites.
• Maintain accurate records of distributed materials and ensure accountability in their utilization.
• Support logistics and operational arrangements required for project activities and events.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
• Conduct regular monitoring visits to schools and communities to assess implementation quality and progress.
• Track qualitative and quantitative indicators to measure program performance and impact.
• Collect, verify, and maintain program data, success stories, case studies, and supporting documentation.
• Identify implementation challenges and recommend corrective actions to improve program outcomes.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of district-level progress updates and activity reports.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Education, Public Health, Development Studies, Sociology, or a related field.
Experience
• Experience working with government departments, schools, teachers, and community institutions.
• Demonstrated experience in training, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to build relationships with government officials, schools, and community stakeholders.
• Experience in conducting trainings and capacity-building activities.
• Strong organizational, planning, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and digital reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently and travel extensively within project districts.
