Contract Duration: 11 Months from 1st July 2026

Based in location :Delhi

Under guidance of Chief of Party- Dettol School Hygiene Education Programme (DSHEP) and Durex the Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) Projects Travel Requirement As required

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB
The position holder is responsible for the management and implementation of Financial and accounting requirements in alignment with the Project deliverables. The role will ensure guidance and monitoring the development and implementation of systems and processes for Accounts and Administration in the donor supported projects (Reckitt). The role holder shall ensure compliance through monitoring and review of partners’ budgets and cash flows, financial review and audit of the partners. The incumbent is responsible for accurate financial reporting, forecasts, leading budgeting for the development of new grant proposals and capacity building of the team members for meeting the financial standards and compliance requirements. Provide leadership direction and support to the administration team.

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGY & BUDGETS
• To assist in developing a fully integrated strategy for the Finance function in line with the Project objectives
• To guide the team in implementing a robust financial strategy for the projects and constantly endeavour to improve the systems to deliver high quality financial management, including means to provide financial planning and management information
• To ensure that all legal financial and statutory procedures are managed well and reported to the management and donor as per timelines.
• Ensure on time preparation of expense budget for the Finance function at AJ Foundation and drive adherence to this budget.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & PLANNING
• To provide a financial dashboard to Chief of Party highlighting Projects cost ratios, to support decision making by the leadership on productivity metrics and cost efficiencies to maintain financial standards.
• To provide support in the design of and ensure adherence to Financial protocols, scheme of delegation, and Standard Operating Procedures for the financial management of the projects
• To review under guidance of the Chief of Party the monthly Financial Results and discuss implications of periodic financial trends and results of analysis with the Accounts team
• To ensure new financial systems are appropriate, accessible and effective
• To ensure donor reporting requirements are met in a timely manner through comprehensive and high quality documentation
• To ensure adherence to AJ Foundation’s financial systems and procedures, and provide authorizations and approvals for critical deviations/ variances
• To provide decision making support to the Chief of Party on approving corrective action in case of variances between Actual costs/ expenses vs. Budgeted costs/ expenses
• To ensure that the team provide support to the Programme Implementation team at State Offices for detailed budgeting
• Ensure quality assurance of financial data

FINANCIAL RISK MANAGEMENT
• Ensure judicious utilization of funds, minimization of financial risk, adherence to budgets and cost saving as well as compliance with regulatory norms
• To drive reserves planning and cash flow management strategy and identify potential risk scenarios on a regular basis
• To mitigate risks wherever possible through instruments such as an enterprise wide risk map

PARTNER FINANCIAL RISK MANAGEMENT
• To develop Financial Risk Management policy and enabling systems and software
• To monitor the financial review of partners and take corrective actions, as required
• To ensure periodic financial reviews of the partners and ensure maintenance of a Risk Categorization framework
• To ensure that anti-bribery and anti-corruption policies are followed stringently and are updated as per best practices in the sector

OVERSEE THE ADMINISTRATION RESPONSIBILITIES
• To provide leadership, direction and support to the Admin team.
• Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
• Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services, through improvements as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.

CAPACITY BUILDING
• To ensure capacity building of the partners’ finance team for meeting the financial compliance requirements for the projects managed
• To address the skill development needs of the team members and lead capacity building for the team to ensure efficient financial management

TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Ensure team is capacitated to work as per financial and regulatory framework.
• To strengthen inter-team communication, stimulate good team dynamics and ensure regular reporting on work deliverables.
• To conduct performance appraisal of the team members and build their capacity for their job.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Chartered Accountant degree is a must
• Minimum 10 years of working experience, with at least 5 years at managerial level (team handling experience) and engaged in financial and grant management in large-scale development sector organisation with both Foreign and domestic Currency funding’s (sound knowledge of FCRA regulations)
• Proven ability at Managerial level, overseeing financial management, legal aspects and partners management of multi-state complex projects with tight deadlines and ambitious targets
• Proven ability in interfacing with multiple stakeholders, donors and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
• Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills in English and working knowledge of Hindi.
• Excellent computer skills, including use of MS Office software, advance excel skills and ERP working knowledge (SAP experience would be preferable).
• Experience in driving innovation, best practices adoption and process improvements
• Ability to work and manage teams independently in a complex, multicultural environment.
