Supervises: Senior Program Officers, Program Officers, Field Staff, Volunteers, and Implementing Partners
Level of Contact with Children: Level 2 – Sporadic or occasional contact with children
Safeguarding Statement:
The position holder shall adhere to and work within the ambit of AJ Foundation's Safeguarding Policy, Child Protection Policy, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy, and Gender Equality Policy.
Travel Requirement: 60%+ travel to project districts, including rural, remote, and tribal areas, for supervision, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, and program support.

Position Summary
The Regional Manager will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and programmatic guidance for the implementation of The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) Program across assigned states and districts. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, timely, and compliant implementation of program activities while maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders, partners, and communities. The Regional Manager will oversee planning, monitoring, reporting, team performance, financial management, digital platforms, and quality assurance to achieve program outcomes and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Team Management
• Recruit, induct, mentor, and build the capacity of project staff and implementing partners.
• Provide technical guidance to regional teams to ensure effective program delivery.
• Monitor staff performance, identify capacity-building needs, and recommend corrective actions.
• Facilitate regular team meetings, review sessions, and cross-learning platforms.
• Track team progress, document lessons learned, and escalate critical issues to senior leadership.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
2. Program Planning & Delivery
• Lead the development of detailed implementation plans, work plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure all activities are executed in accordance with approved project proposals, work plans, and donor commitments.
• Drive timely and high-quality implementation to achieve project targets and outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
• Identify implementation challenges and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and program standards.
3. Government & Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with state and district government departments, education and health authorities, and community stakeholders.
• Engage with government officials, health experts, civil society organizations, and local leaders to strengthen program ownership and sustainability.
• Coordinate with implementing partners, vendors, consultants, and service providers for effective program delivery.
• Represent the organization in meetings, consultations, review forums, and stakeholder platforms.
• Facilitate approvals, permissions, and collaboration required for project implementation.
4. Field Monitoring & Quality Assurance
• Conduct quarterly field visits, supportive supervision, spot checks, and joint monitoring exercises.
• Assess program quality, implementation fidelity, and adherence to established standards.
• Monitor staff and partner performance against agreed indicators and deliverables.
• Identify gaps and implement timely corrective actions to improve program effectiveness.
• Document field observations, best practices, success stories, and lessons learned.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
• Contribute to the development and refinement of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, indicators, and reporting tools.
• Ensure accurate collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of program data.
• Review progress against targets and recommend evidence-based course corrections.
• Develop and standardize data collection formats, reporting templates, and monitoring tools.
• Analyze trends, generate insights, and support decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
• Maintain robust documentation and evidence for program achievements.
6. Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports within established timelines.
• Ensure all reports include accurate data, validation documents, proof of delivery, geo-tagged photographs, and supporting evidence.
• Provide high-quality updates to donors, senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit data, narratives, and evidence for the Global Social Impact Report and other organizational reporting requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive program documentation and records for audits, reviews, and evaluations.
• Provide continuous feedback to partners and stakeholders on implementation quality and performance.
7. Team & Cross-Program Support
• Provide operational and technical support to project teams to strengthen implementation quality.
• Collaborate with other organizational programs to build synergies and integrated approaches.
• Support organizational reporting, learning initiatives, and cross-functional activities.
• Contribute to proposal development, program expansion, and strategic planning as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
• Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, Education, Management, or a related field.
Experience
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in program management, preferably in adolescent health, education, SRHR, public health, or community development programs.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-district or multi-state projects.
• Experience working with government systems, development partners, and donor-funded programs.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and financial management.
