Position Summary
The Program Officer (PO) will support the Program Lead in managing program implementation, financial oversight, capacity building, and relationship management with NFI’s Civil Society Organization (CSO) partners.
The role involves close coordination with partners to ensure timely project delivery, effective utilization of funds, on-field support, monitoring and evaluation, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in line with program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Program Lead in project design, planning, and implementation at NFI and partner levels.
- Manage and monitor program and financial components, including tracking results frameworks and timelines with CSO partners.
- Facilitate and organize trainings, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives as per program needs.
- Identify and engage appropriate vendors, consultants, resource persons, and institutions for program execution.
- Conduct due diligence, coordinate timely release of grant instalments, and ensure regular monitoring of project progress.
- Provide on-field mentoring and technical support to CSO partners, including travel to remote project locations.
- Maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) and prepare high-quality progress, financial, and narrative reports.
- Present updates to internal committees and participate in review meetings.
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in alignment with organizational goals.
Eligibility Criteria / Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree (preferably in Social Work or a related discipline) from a recognized university.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in the development sector, with demonstrated expertise in project management (planning, implementation, monitoring – program and finance).
- Strong computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including to remote and challenging locations.

- Excellent reporting, documentation, and MIS management skills.

- Language proficiency in English, Hindi and any local language of the Northeastern states (speaking, reading, and writing).

Compensation
Annual remuneration ranging from INR 5.40 LPA to INR 7.20 LPA, inclusive of applicable taxes, EPF, and other staff benefits, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

- Renewable annually based on performance and project requirements
