Join Us in Transforming Lives:

Educate Girls is an award-winning non-profit working to ensure that every girl in India's rural and educationally marginalised communities has access to quality education.

In 2025, Educate Girls became the first Indian organisation to receive the Ramon Magsaysay Award, Asia's highest honour.

Since 2007, we have partnered with state governments and local communities to identify out-of-school girls, support their enrolment and retention, and strengthen foundational learning for all children. Our second-chance program also helps adolescent girls and young women complete their Grade 10 and 12 educations while building life skills and agency.

With a network of more than 55,000 community volunteers, Educate Girls has enrolled over 20 lakhs girls and improved learning outcomes for over 24 lakh children across 30,000 villages in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.

Over the next 10 years, Educate Girls aims to impact 10 million learners by:

  • Continuing ‘Vidya’, our Back-to-School Program, which identifies out-of-school girls (ages 6-14), supports enrolment and retention in government schools and strengthens foundational learning and life skills.
  • Scaling up India’s largest second-chance education initiative ‘Pragati’, targeting adolescent girls and young women (ages 15–29) who drop out due to societal barriers & systemic gaps and are now ineligible for formal schooling. Pragati delivers village-based learning camps to build life skills, enhance agency and enable learners to earn their Grade 10 certifications through State Open Schools.
  • Strengthening open schooling systems in 12 states through Technical Assistance Units (TAUs) in partnership with the government. These units focus on improving access to and the quality of State Open Schools to support learners in the Pragati program.
  • Together, these programs embody our mission to ensure that every girl is included, educated, and empowered - driving lasting transformation in education and gender equity across India

             About the role:

The Manager, NGO Partnerships will anchor relationships with a portfolio of partner NGOs by providing technical assistance, systems strengthening, and strategic advisory support. The role focuses on enabling partners to deliver on programmatic Key Management Indicators (KMIs)—including impact metrics and timelines—through structured reviews, problem-solving, and alignment with broader program goals.

You will work closely with partners to build their institutional capacity across operations, finance, monitoring, and advocacy, enabling them to sustainably scale their impact. Through access to tools, knowledge resources, and networks, you will act as a thought partner and technical backbone to partner organizations.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

1. Partner Lifecycle Management (Selection, Onboarding & Planning)

  • Support partner identification, evaluation, and selection through structured criteria and due diligence.
  • Design and deliver onboarding, orientation, and integration support for new partners.
  • Provide technical guidance to partners in developing annual plans and budgets aligned with program goals.

      2. Technical Assistance & Capacity Building

  • Assess partner capacities and identify gaps across programmatic, operational, financial, and compliance areas.
  • Design and deliver targeted trainings, tools, and frameworks to strengthen partner capabilities.
  • Develop benchmarking systems and capacity-building roadmaps to enable partners to meet required standards and scale sustainably.

      3. Implementation Support & Adaptive Management

Provide ongoing advisory support through regular reviews, field visits, and problem-solving engagements.

Support partners in tracking progress against KMIs and implementing course corrections as needed.

Strengthen partners’ use of data, dashboards, and monitoring systems for informed decision-making.

4. Performance Management, Evaluation & Learning

  • Facilitate governance and review mechanisms to ensure alignment, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with external evaluators and support partners in preparing for and responding to assessments.
  • Synthesize performance insights into periodic reports, highlighting learnings, risks, and recommendations.

5. Stakeholder & Team Management + Partnership Strengthening

  • Manage and mentor the partnerships team to deliver high-quality technical support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enabling effective communication and collaboration.
  • Continuously refine and strengthen the partnership model through innovation, feedback, and ecosystem engagement.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Overall experience of 8-10 years with 4–5 years of professional experience in operations, partnerships, or program management.
  • Prior experience in the development sector, particularly with NGOs or within the education ecosystem, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and managing NGO partners or multi-stakeholder collaborations.

Apply if you have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Hindi preferred).
  • Comfortable working in iterative, evolving, and field-driven environments.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations for approximately 10–15 days per month for observations, reviews, and handholding support to partners.
