Advertisement for the Position of Assistant Professor – Digital Public Health and Health Systems Analytics
The Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI), Patna, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor – Digital Public Health and Health Systems Analytics.
The institute seeks candidates with strong interdisciplinary expertise at the intersection of public health, data science, digital systems, and evidence-based policy research. The position is particularly suited for scholars working on technology-enabled approaches to strengthening health systems, public health surveillance, disease monitoring, digital governance, and population health analytics in low- and middle-income country contexts.
Essential Qualifications
- A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale where grading systems are followed) in Public Health, Digital Health, Health Informatics, Health Systems, Biostatistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Health Analytics, Community Health, or any other relevant/allied discipline from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
- Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET.
- Candidates who have been awarded a PhD degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2009/2016 and subsequent amendments shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET.
- Preference shall be given to candidates having interdisciplinary teaching/research experience in Digital Public Health, Health Informatics, AI applications in healthcare, GIS, Data Analytics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Health Policy, or Health Systems Research
Desirable Qualifications
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals/books/book chapters.
- Experience handling funded projects, field surveys, public health databases, statistical software, and interdisciplinary research.
- Industry/government/NGO collaboration experience in health and environmental sectors.
- Strong analytical and quantitative research skills.
Preferred Areas of Expertise
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will be preferred:
- Digital health systems and health informatics
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning for public health applications
- Health systems strengthening and digital governance
- Epidemiological modelling and surveillance systems
- Data-driven health policy and implementation research
- Population health analytics and real-time monitoring systems
- Large-scale health data management, dashboards, and decision-support systems
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to interdisciplinary research projects on digital public health and health systems.
- Support the development of evidence-based tools for health policy and programme implementation.
- Design and undertake quantitative and mixed-methods research studies.
- Contribute to proposal development, academic publications, policy briefs, and technical reports.
- Mentor research staff and support institutional collaborations with academic, governmental, and development partners.
