About Prerana
Prerana is a civil society organisation established in 1986 to address intergenerational trafficking into the sex trade in Kamathipura, formerly Asia’s largest red-light district. Prerana is committed to ensuring optimum protection of children through a continuum of care approach that integrates child protection with anti-human trafficking interventions. Since its inception, Prerana’s pioneering efforts have supported victims across the entire cycle from prevention to rehabilitation and repatriation. Over nearly four decades, the organisation has addressed critical issues including sex trafficking, gender-based violence, child sexual abuse, and child protection, while contributing to policy-level changes
About the Project
Project Aashiyana operates under the Transform NEEV Collective, focusing on family strengthening, prevention of family- child separation, and promotion of community-based alternative care systems. It works with vulnerable communities in Mumbai Suburban and Thane districts, along with cross-state engagements to strengthen practice and systems.
The project is currently in an extended phase with confirmed timelines up to February 2027 and includes multi-state coordination, consultations, and structured stakeholder engagement.
Context of the Role
The Project Coordinator – Fellowship will play a key role in the implementation and day-to-day management of a seven-month fellowship programme for youth leaders. The position will be responsible for coordinating fellow recruitment, engagement, learning activities, exposure visits, community action projects, stipend management, monitoring, and documentation.
The role requires a highly organised individual who enjoys working closely with young people, managing multiple processes simultaneously, and ensuring a positive learning experience for fellows throughout the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Fellowship Recruitment and Outreach:
- Support outreach and mobilisation efforts to attract fellowship applicants.
- Coordinate dissemination of fellowship announcements through universities, networks, social media, and partner organisations.
- Manage the application process and maintain applicant databases.
- Coordinate communication with applicants throughout the recruitment and selection process.
- Support interview scheduling and logistics.
Fellowship Coordination and Participant Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for fellows.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities.
- Maintain regular communication with fellows throughout the fellowship.
- Track participation and attendance across all fellowship activities.
- Support fellows in understanding programme requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate monthly follow-up calls and engagement activities.
Learning Sessions and Events:
- Support planning and implementation of the Fellowship Kickstart Training.
- Coordinate logistics for monthly learning sessions and workshops.
- Liaise with facilitators, mentors, and guest speakers.
- Manage participant communication before and after learning events.
- Support session delivery and participant engagement.
Community Action Projects:
- Track progress of fellows' community-based initiatives.
- Follow up on implementation milestones and deliverables.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to fellows.
- Maintain records of project outputs and outcomes.
- Coordinate collection of field updates, photographs, and stories.
Exposure Visits:
- Coordinate planning and logistics for exposure visits.
- Arrange travel, accommodation, permissions, and participant communication.
- Maintain required consent and participation documentation.
- Support facilitation during exposure visits.
Stipend Administration:
- Track completion of fellowship requirements linked to stipend disbursement.
- Maintain accurate records related to fellow participation and deliverables.
- Coordinate with finance and programme teams on stipend processing.
- Ensure timely submission of required documentation by fellows.
Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain fellowship databases and participant records.
- Track attendance, participation, assignments, and engagement indicators.
- Compile monthly fellowship updates and progress reports.
- Support documentation of fellow journeys, success stories, and community impact.
- Assist in maintaining programme records and evidence for donor reporting.
Graduation and Alumni Engagement:
- Support planning and implementation of the fellowship graduation event.
- Coordinate certification processes.
- Maintain alumni databases.
- Support post-fellowship engagement and networking opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Youth Development, or a related field.
- Commitment to child rights, youth leadership, and community development.
- 2–4 years of experience in programme coordination, youth engagement, training coordination, or fellowship management.
- Experience working with adolescents and young people.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Preferred Competencies:
- Experience coordinating fellowships, leadership programmes, internships, or youth networks.
- Experience managing participant databases and monitoring systems.
- Familiarity with child rights, child protection, youth participation, or community development programmes.
- Experience coordinating residential trainings and exposure visits.
Compensation:
Salary: Rs 35,000- 45,000 per month
Travel and programme-related expenses will be reimbursed as per organisational policies.
