Grameen Development Services (GDS), established in the year 1993 works towards socio-economic empowerment of poor and disadvantaged section of society particularly women living in the areas of structural poverty in India through promoting and strengthening the livelihoods. Throughout its development trajectory, GDS has consistently responded to bring the social and development transformation for improving quality of life of people.

GDS is looking for a dynamic Agriculture professional to support its program of Strengthening Livelihoods through Agriculture Development in Jamunaha Block of District Shravasti (Eastern UP).

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate should be Post Graduate in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy or Horticulture. Should have at least 5 years of experience of working at the grassroot level in an agriculture development project, preferably in regenerative agriculture promotion.

Monthly Salary- Rs. 46,000/- (Consolidated)

Roles & Responsibilities
1. Lead the agriculture component of the project with proper planning, development of crop Package of practices (PoPs), build capacity of the field teams and farmers and closely monitor the progress at the field level.
2. Provide support to the project team for preparing the annual/seasonal work plan of agricultural activities, suggesting new ideas for innovation planning and achievement.
3. Develop & update context-specific agriculture package of practices (PoPs) in consultation with scientists, experts and also farmers for promotion of high-value crops and pulses being promoted by the project with focus on natural farming in the Project area.
4. Provide technical guidance on crop PoPs to field team members, Agriculture Entrepreneurs and farmers during their orientation & capacity building programmes and follow-ups through on-site visits to crop demo plots at various stages in project villages.
5. Assess agri-input requirements in support with FCs, initiate the process for procurement and ensure supply of quality inputs to selected farmers through involving local Agriculture Entrepreneurs.
6. Coordinate with govt. Agriculture & horticulture departments at block and district level to mobilise convergence with various schemes & programmes like FMBs, CHCs, quality seeds, agriculture equipment & implements, drip/sprinkler, solar pumps etc. through DBT contributing to Project interventions.
7. Prepare documentation on best practices in agriculture adopted in the project area and share these for replication at other locations during review meetings.
