Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to Director - Strategic Communication, and under the guidance and supervision of the PAC India team, the Communication Intern will support our tobacco control program as follows:
• Assist in creating and editing communication materials, including social media content, presentations, newsletters, blogs, fact sheets, reports, and other communication and knowledge products.
• Assist in the management of social media channels by supporting review and proof reading of content, preparing content calendars, monitoring engagement, and tracking performance metrics.
• Assist the team in projects, reports, and policy briefs related to Canary, Vital Strategies’ AI-assisted monitoring and reporting service
• Support the planning and execution of communication campaigns, events, webinars, workshops, consultations, and report launches.
• Conduct background research/literature review to support development of communication strategies, presentations, briefing documents, concept notes, case studies and other materials as required by the team.
• Support media monitoring and prepare summaries of relevant news, policy developments, and public discourse related to public health priorities.
• Assist in maintaining and updating communication databases, stakeholder contact lists, media lists, and content repositories.
• Provide administrative and logistical support to the Strategic Communication and PAC teams as required.
• Work on any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's/Master's degree or currently enrolled in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Health, Social Sciences, Marketing, Development Studies, or related disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi and other Indian languages will be an advantage.
• Should have basic understanding of data or its interpretation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); working ability using various AI tools will be an advantage
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
• Basic graphic design, video editing, or content creation skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools) are desirable.
• Interest in public health, policy advocacy, behavior change communication, or social impact initiatives.
• Experience in content writing, social media management, or communication-related projects through coursework, internships, or volunteer work is preferred.

Additional Information :
Supervisor may assign other duties and responsibilities as well. Weekly work requirements and schedules must be discussed with the supervisor to ensure that the work priorities can be accomplished in working hours (hours of engagement to be discussed at the time of interview).
Onsite/Hybrid – The successful applicant is expected to report to the Vital Strategies India office in Saket, New Delhi, as required.
