About Kriti

Kriti Social Initiatives (Kriti) is an Indian Not for Profit organization (Public Charitable Trust) established in 2009 with a vision to alleviate poverty of the urban poor. Kriti works with women and children in the slums of Hyderabad to help them on the path towards economic independence and a better quality of life through improvement in the livelihoods of women and education for the children.

Project Pehchaan is one of Kriti’s key programs that works towards empowerment of women through financial inclusion and livelihood development. Kriti is forming Self-help groups or savings groups with women from marginalized communities in old city of Hyderabad. The women meet monthly and save a fixed amount. Over a period of time, they build savings assets in their name and start taking loans from the savings held with the group. The loans are used for family emergencies or for starting a business. Currently Project Pehchaan has over 1000 members and we plan to expand the program to cover over 2000 women by March 2027. Over the next year we would like to create a formal institution like a Cooperative Bank to MACS where all the members would have ownership.

We are looking for an enthusiastic social work professional who would take on the challenge of working with the project team to achieve this goal. Capacity building and training of the beneficiaries is another key program objective.

Responsibilities:

Work with the community field coordinators in field work and mobilization to ensure that the new group formation targets are achieved
Conduct audits of the SHG minutes and MIS entries every month as per the audit plan and give feedback to project manager and the community field coordinators
Work with Project Manager to develop the training / capacity building plan for the groups and conduct training during group meetings and cluster meetings
Promote entrepreneurship development training amongst the members – both in craft based and non craft based businesses.
Prepare monthly reports for the project – both quantitative showing performance in savings, loans issued and loan repayment and also qualitative for donors
Capture case studies, assist in proposal writing and other documentation activities.

Qualifications

Masters in Social work, womens studies or related field from a reputed institute
Two years work experience in a program related to financial inclusion, capacity building of women or livelihood promotion
Fluency in Hindi / Urdu and English
Strong writing and communication skills
