Job Description: Block Lead - Social Inclusion & Capacity Building.
This position will be placed at the block level with one of the Block Mission Management Units of Chhattisgarh and will report to the District Resource Person and State Project Management Unit. In addition, this position will have to work in close coordination with selected block staff of the BMMU, District Resource person, selected panchayats and Self-Help Groups (SHGs)..
 
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the BMMU to identify and engage marginalized groups, including ultra-poor households, PVTGs, women, persons with disabilities (PwDs), and other vulnerable populations, in livelihood initiatives.
  • Facilitate the identification of coaches and community resource persons.
  • Support the preparation of training plans.
  • facilitate gender equity, social inclusion, and empowerment principles within livelihood programs.
  • Conduct Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) to understand community needs and design targeted interventions along with the BMMU team, Panchayat and the coaches
  • Identify the training area and facilitate the BMMU team to make training plans on social inclusion, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership development for marginalized groups.
  • Organize Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions for community facilitators, SHG leaders, and block-level officials.
  • Efective implementation of inclusive livelihoods interventions at the block level.
  • Track social inclusion indicators, capacity-building progress, and beneficiary participation in livelihood initiatives.
  • Conduct impact assessments and develop case studies on best practices in social inclusion and capacity building.
  • Prepare periodic reports and recommendations for district and state-level program teams.
  • Collaborate with government departments (MGNREGA, Skill Development Missions etc.) for effective program implementation.
  • Work closely with NGOs, training institutions, and private sector partners to strengthen inclusion-focused initiatives.
  • Represent the program in block and district-level meetings, policy forums, and training workshops.
  • Ensuring the data entry in the NRLM MIS and/or any other electronic system.
  • Any other work related to the program. 
Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in social work, Rural Development, Agriculture, Livelihoods, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
 
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in social inclusion, livelihoods promotion, capacity building, or rural development.
  • Experience working with ultra-poor households, tribal communities, women’s collectives, and persons with disabilities.
  • Strong background in training, facilitation, and participatory community engagement.
  • Familiarity with government schemes (DAY-NRLM, MGNREGA, PMKVY) and social protection programs.
  • Knowledge of gender mainstreaming, disability inclusion, and social equity frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with community-based organizations, cooperatives, or federations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, digital tools, and monitoring frameworks
  • Exposure to impact assessment tools and livelihoods-based MIS.
  • Ability to engage with government officials, community leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, data analysis tools).

Preference: The preference will be given to the candidates belong to the regions mentioned in “Project location.”

  • Salary: Up to Rs 30,000 (commensurate with qualification & experience).
