Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) works to bridge the digital divide and empower underserved communities through meaningful access to information, connectivity, technology, digital literacy, and livelihood opportunities. DEF implements large-scale programs across India focusing on digital inclusion, women’s entrepreneurship, education, connectivity access, and artisan development.

About the Role
The District Coordinators – Golaghat will lead and manage DEF’s projects across various districts in Assam. The role involves coordinating with field teams, managing local partners, ensuring timely execution of project activities, and strengthening digital inclusion and community development initiatives. Knowledge of Assamese (local language) is mandatory to effectively engage with communities, partners, and local ecosystem stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Coordination & Implementation:
• Implementation of DEF programs across assigned districts in Assam.
• Work closely with the SoochnaPreneur (center coordinator), trainers, community mobilizers, and project staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure proper implementation of Program at the ground level as per the guidelines
• Handholding and capacity building of center coordinator/beneficiaries to ensure smooth running of the center.
• Support implementation of projects focused on digital inclusion, connectivity, women’s
entrepreneurship, digital literacy, education, and livelihood development.

Field & Community Engagement:
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor activities, engage with community members, and ensure project alignment with local needs.
• Build strong relationships with community leaders, panchayats, local institutions, and beneficiaries.
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and community outreach activities as required.
Stakeholder & Partner Management:
• Coordinate with state-level government departments, NGOs, partners, and local institutions.
• Assist in planning state-level events, meetings, reviews, and partner engagements.

Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation:
• Track field activities, collect data, update MIS, and report progress regularly.
• Document case studies, photos, success stories, and field insights.
• Provide timely reports to the Senior Program Manager and central program teams.

Team Support & Capacity Building:
• Guide and support center coordinator in day-to-day project execution.
• Conduct on-ground reviews, planning meetings, and training sessions.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Graduate in relevant field, Bachelor's Development Studies, Social Work, Arts,
• 2-3 years of experience in the development sector program coordination, or field management.
• Experience in digital inclusion, women empowerment, education, community networks, or livelihood initiatives is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Assamese (reading, writing, and speaking)—mandatory.
• Candidates familiar with the Upper Assam regional socio-cultural landscape will be preferred.

Skills & Competencies:
• Strong coordination, communication, and field management skills.
• Good documentation and reporting abilities.
• Ability to build relationships with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.
• Comfortable with digital tools, MS Office, and online reporting systems.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the project district.

Other Requirements:
• Passion for community development and digital empowerment.
• Ability to work independently and manage diverse field environments.

Salary: 20,000 -25,000 per month (negotiable)
