Position: Programme Manager

Organisation: National Council for Handloom & Handicraft Development (NCHHD)

Reporting To: Team Lead

Location: IIHT, Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh

Employment Type: Full-time, Project Based (3 years)

About the Project
NCHHD is implementing an ambitious Integrated Institutional Development Project (IIDP) to revive and transform the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT), Janjgir-Champa into a Centre of Excellence for handloom education, innovation, production and community empowerment. The project integrates academic reform, infrastructure modernization, production systems, weaver engagement, and market linkages, creating a model handloom ecosystem for Chhattisgarh and India.

Role Summary
Responsible for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and management of the project to ensure strategic alignment, timely delivery, operational efficiency, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable impact

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, implement, and monitor project activities.
• Coordinate with IIHT, government, industry, and community stakeholders.
• Lead institutional development, training, and cluster outreach initiatives.
• Promote industry partnerships, market linkages, and entrepreneurship.
• Oversee budgets, procurement, compliance, and reporting.
• Supervise project staff, consultants, and field teams.
• Prepare project reports, documentation, and donor submissions.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Master's degree in Rural Development, Management, Social Work, Textile/Handloom Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in programme/project management, preferably in livelihoods, handloom, textiles, skill development, or donor/government-funded projects.
