Programme: Safety Studio
Location: Kolkata / Mumbai /Delhi
Budget: INR 6.5 LPA (Negotiable for Best-in-class candidates)
Travel: Need-based travel to Jharkhand
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation
About the Role
Do you enjoy finding the story hidden inside a messy Excel sheet?
This role is for someone who likes data, but also wants to know what the numbers are trying to say.
As Senior Associate, Monitoring and Evaluation, you will support Aangan’s Safety Studio programme by managing data, checking quality, preparing reports, supporting dashboards and helping the team understand what is changing on the ground.
Some days, you may be cleaning datasets. Some days, you may be helping a field team understand an indicator. Some days, you may spot a pattern that makes the programme pause and ask, “Wait, what is happening here?” That is the fun part.
We are looking for someone who is practical, curious, detail-oriented and comfortable working with both digital tools and real field realities.
Key Responsibilities
Data collection and quality
• Support regular collection of programme data from field teams.
• Check data for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
• Follow up with field teams where data is missing, unclear or incorrect.
• Support field staff to understand formats, indicators and reporting timelines.
• Maintain organised records of programme activities, outputs and outcomes.
Data management and analysis
• Manage programme databases, trackers and monitoring sheets.
• Clean, organise and categorise data for analysis and reporting.
• Support basic quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Identify trends, gaps, errors and red flags.
• Prepare data summaries for programme reviews and leadership updates.
Dashboards and visualisation
• Support the development and regular updating of dashboards.
• Create simple charts, tables and visual summaries.
• Help teams use dashboards to review progress and plan next steps.
• Present data in a clear and easy-to-understand format.
Reporting and documentation
• Support preparation of funder reports, programme reports and review notes.
• Provide data and evidence for presentations, annual reports and impact reports.
• Document key learnings, field insights and qualitative observations.
• Help convert programme data into clear written inputs.
Evaluation and field support
• Support research, assessments and evaluation studies.
• Help with tool preparation, data collection plans and field coordination.
• Travel to programme locations when required for monitoring support.
• Ensure data collection is child-sensitive, ethical and respectful.
Technical Skills Required
• Strong knowledge of Advanced Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, data cleaning and validation.
• Experience using data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox, Google Forms, SurveyCTO or similar platforms.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, SPSS, STATA or similar tools.
• Ability to work with large datasets without panicking.
• Ability to prepare simple charts, tables, dashboards and visual reports.
• Good documentation and report writing skills.
Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a related field.
• 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the development sector.
• Experience in monitoring, data management and reporting.
• Prior experience with school programmes, adolescent girls, child protection or community-based programmes will be an advantage.
• Fluency in English, Hindi and Bengali is essential.
• Willingness to travel when required.
You May Be a Good Fit If
• You enjoy making sense of messy data.
• You can spot errors, gaps and patterns.
• You like asking, “What is this really telling us?”
• You are comfortable using Excel and digital data tools.
• You can explain data in simple language.
• You work well with field teams.
• You are organised, reliable and deadline-oriented.
• You believe data should help people make better decisions, not just fill reports.
Why This Role Matters
Safety Studio works with adolescent girls, communities, schools to prevent harm before it happens.
Your work will help the team understand what is working, what is not, where girls may need more support, and where the programme needs to shift. In short: you will help turn field data into decisions.
