Job Title: Senior Programme Manager
Reporting to: Director, Care To Action
Location: Vijayawada
Role Purpose: To lead and manage the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects, ensuring effective coordination with team members, stakeholders, and partners to achieve project objectives within time and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Design:
• Lead the annual project planning process, including development of detailed implementation schedules, workplans, and budgets aligned with donor agreements and organisational priorities.
• Conduct needs assessments, stakeholder consultations, and baseline surveys in collaboration with government departments and community-based institutions.
• Develop comprehensive project proposals, logical frameworks (LogFrames), and theory of change models to ensure goal clarity and strategic alignment.
2. Project Implementation:
• Oversee day-to-day implementation of projects in accordance with approved plans, ensuring timely delivery of activities and outcomes.
• Ensure targeted enrolment of children from vulnerable, marginalized communities, with a specific focus on girls and children with special needs, through inclusive and equitable approaches.
• Promote community ownership and participation by mobilizing children, parents, and local stakeholders in the project lifecycle.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting:
• Design and roll out monitoring tools and formats to capture real-time project data, track progress against targets, and assess impact.
• Lead weekly reviews and monthly team meetings to assess progress, identify risks, and adjust plans accordingly.
• Prepare and submit project reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) to the donor and senior management in the prescribed formats.
• Support the preparation of the organisation’s Annual Report by contributing project-specific data and impact stories.
4. Team Leadership & Capacity Building:
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project staff to strengthen their planning, implementation, and community facilitation skills.
• Facilitate periodic training and capacity-building workshops for both team members and beneficiaries on entitlements, gender, life skills, and education rights.
• Delegate responsibilities based on team members’ skills, while fostering accountability, ownership, and collaborative leadership.
5. Budgeting & Financial Management:
• Develop annual budgets and ensure that all expenditures align with project plans and donor guidelines.
• Coordinate with the finance team for monthly requisitions, timely settlements, and financial tracking to ensure optimal use of resources.
• Monitor cost-effectiveness and ensure judicious utilization of allocated funds across all project activities.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Building:
• Liaise with government stakeholders such as SERP, MEPMA, Village & Ward Secretariats, ICDS, DCPU, and other development partners for smooth implementation.
• Represent the organisation in relevant forums, partner meetings, and review sessions as required.
• Ensure coordination with other in-house programmes and projects (e.g., Sponsorship, Women4Change, Mangos Children’s Home, School4Future) to promote synergy and shared learning.
7. Communication, Documentation & Field Engagement:
• Lead the development of communication materials (e.g., training modules, pamphlets, posters) in the local language to support project outreach and awareness.
• Document best practices, case studies, and impact stories to support knowledge sharing and donor engagement.
• Conduct field visits for at least 10 days per month to monitor activities, engage with communities, and support field teams.
8. Miscellaneous:
• Accompany donors and visitors during field visits and share updates on project progress and community impact.
• Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the Director or senior leadership to further the mission of the organisation.
