About us:
Jan Sahas was founded in the year 2000 to ensure dignity for India’s most socially excluded communities. Since then, we have made significant contributions to support communities and shift systems to address forced labour, sexual violence (e.g., designed and piloted a nationally recognized model for survivor support centre), and manual scavenging (e.g., helped bring about landmark legislation to prohibit the practice and compensate victims).
Since 2012, we have been implementing our flagship Dignity First Initiative (formerly known as the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children - PVAWC program). Our mission is ambitious: to eliminate sexual violence and uphold dignity. To date, this initiative has:
- Provided comprehensive support to over 23,000 survivors of violence.
- Offered mental health care to over 10,000 individuals.
- Driven significant community transformation by challenging harmful social norms and increasing help-seeking behavior across 50 districts, with partnerships in 25 districts across eight states.

- Lead preparation and quality assurance of narrative and analytical reports for donor as well as internal stakeholders.
- Serve as final MEL review point before reports are shared with donors and external stakeholders.
- Document and promote learning, adaptations, and good practices across projects.
- Support in selection, onboarding, steering and coordinating external evaluation partner(s), external agencies and consultants to develop, refine, and execute the measurement, learning, and evidence and impact agenda, ensuring quality and prudent management.
- Support in PRIMERO/MIS rollout related work, conducting trainings on MIS, providing troubleshooting support.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate degree (MA/MSW) in Economics, Population Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, research, or programme quality roles.
