JOB DESCRIPTION – PRINCIPAL

Position: Principal

Institution: YMCA Sir George Williams School & Junior College, Pune – A flagship Project of The National Council of YMCAs of India

Position Summary

The Principal shall serve as the academic head of the institution and shall be responsible for providing visionary leadership in teaching and learning, ensuring academic excellence, fostering a positive school culture, and promoting the holistic development of students in alignment with the vision and objectives of the institution.

Qualifications & Experience

Master’s Degree with B.Ed. from a recognized University.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in teaching and school administration.
Experience in SSC Board Schools will be preferred.
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the educational development of the school.
Ensure effective implementation of the prescribed curriculum, educational policies, and academic standards of the concerned educational authorities and boards.
Monitor and enhance the quality of teaching, learning, assessment, and student achievement.
Guide, mentor, and support teachers in instructional planning, classroom practices, and professional development.
Promote innovation, creativity, and excellence in educational practices and student learning.
Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic excellence and holistic development.
Coordinate with the Correspondent, Secretary, staff, students, and parents to ensure the effective implementation of the school’s academic programmes and objectives.
Ensure compliance with academic regulations, examination procedures, and educational requirements prescribed by the relevant authorities.
